Although gymnastics is currently one of my top priorities in life, my academics and education is by far number one. I am looking for a school that can help serve my purpose of getting a great education, but also one that has a gymnastics program to help me keep doing what I love and do best. My goals are to continue to challenge and improve myself both academically and in gymnastics day after day and year after year. With my dedication and continuous hard work, I believe I could help be a solid link in the chain that makes up the team.
"I have coached many athletes in my 30 plus years of coaching, from beginner to Junior National Team. In all of those years of coaching I can honestly say that Chelsey Andrada is one of the most dedicated athletes I have ever met.
"Chelsey Andrada has been a part of the North Bay family since she was five years old. She is a team leader and is always there for her teammates. What Chelsey lacks in natural talent is made up by her perseverance, desire to improve and her true love for gymnastics. When Chelsey wanted to be a level 9 gymnast, I told her that she would have to get a bunch of new skills including a double back off of the bars. I thought to myself, this kid is no where near a double back. That summer Chelsey must have landed on her face a thousand times, but to everyone’s surprise she managed to get her double back along with every other required skill.
"Chelsey is now a third year Level 10 with a determination to do the best she can while still maintaining her academics to the high standards she requires of herself.
"Chelsey’s power, stamina and her ability to work hard everyday are her best qualities. She never seems to have a down day--event when having an off-day, she persists, works harder and still keeps her happy demeanor. Chelsey is the type of athlete any coach would love to have on their team. She is eager, a self starter and happy to do whatever assignments given to her. She also makes sure her teammates stay focused and on task in the most positive way. Chelsey has also been named team captain five times by her teammates.
"I’m very proud of Chelsey and can’t wait to see what amazing things she will accomplish in her new adventures as a college student-athlete. It is very sad to think of her not being a part of the North Bay family but I know that she will be a great asset to her new family."
