North Bay has its own Fab Five this year. All five of our 8-10 year old TOPs gymnasts who participated in USA Gymnastics TOPs testing, qualified for national testing in their respective age groups. That's a 100% success rate for North Bay TOPs and Head Coach Susie Goodmanson.
In addition, our younger TOPs gymnasts, seven year olds London Moldre, Amaya Ramos and Jayde Ramos all had an excellent first year in our TOPs program.
Eight-year-olds Dreah Bernstine, Ellie Pingol, and Tyler Turner, nine-year-old Madelyn Pierce, and ten-year-old Melanie Naranjo qualified in their respective age divisions to journey to the USA Gymnastics Olympic Training Facility at the Karolyi Ranch in Texas to vie for one of the coveted spots on the 2017 TOPs National Team.
We are so proud of our girls. Way to represent North Bay and the Vallejo community!
In June and July, North Bay's TOPs gymnasts participated in four separate TOPs physical abilities and skills testing sessions to try to qualify as one of the top gymnasts nationwide in each of their age groups. The best 7-year-olds qualify for the TOPs National Diamond Team based solely on their state or regional TOP test scores. The top scoring 8-10 year old gymnasts are invited to the National TOPs Test as National Qualifiers in October at the Olympic Training Center (the Karolyi Ranch) in Huntsville, TX. The most successful gymnasts are named to the TOPs A National Team and the gymnasts with the next 60 highest scores make the TOPs B National Team.

NBAA Still Needs Your Help!
While we have achieved a miracle in reviving our safe and secure facility, we continue to have much work to do, and we continue to require resources as we work behind the scenes for some time. We are so thankful to our communities near and afar who have contributed to our recovery for the good of our girls and boys. And, we invite those who are able to offer additional support for our non-profit gym as we continue our work to serve our community.
How Can You Help?
There are several ways you can help North Bay’s recovery:
On the Thursday night of December 15, 2016, flash flood conditions, a high tide and an inadequate storm drain combined to tragic effect for our beloved gym. While coaches and parent volunteers did what they could to secure the structure and equipment, water pervaded the building. The damage was extensive. But already, thanks to the time and hard work of our dedicated parents, families and coaching staff, the gym is on the path to recovery.
Who Is North Bay Athletic Association?
At NBAA, we are committed to improving the health and welfare of the children and teenagers of Solano County. We are a non-profit organization/public charity, and we provide accessible, youth-oriented gymnastics classes, health education, and self-improvement to Vallejo and its surrounding communities, including Benicia, American Canyon, Suisun, and Fairfield. Because gymnastics improves health, physical awareness, motor skills, self-esteem, listening skills, goal setting, and cognitive abilities, our sport teaches skills to children and teens that are essential to making healthy and sound choices throughout their lives.
NBAA is managed by a Board of Directors and Executive Board comprised of community members and parents dedicated to its reputation as an upstanding community service organization. We are organized in accordance with IRC regulation 501(c)(3), and your contribution may be tax deductible (TAX ID 68-0471217).
