FAQ: Flood Recovery at NBAA
North Bay Athletic Association [NBAA] needs your help!
We are rushing to get our gym operational. While we plan to reopen the gym very quickly for our instructional gymnasts and community, we will continue to require resources as we work behind the scenes for some time. We are so thankful to our communities near and afar who contribute to our recovery for the good of our girls and boys.
How Can I Help?
There are several ways you can help North Bay’s recovery:
On the Thursday night of December 15, 2016, flash flood conditions, a high tide and an inadequate storm drain combined to tragic effect for our beloved gym. While coaches and parent volunteers did what they could to secure the structure and equipment, water pervaded the building. The damage was extensive. But already, thanks to the time and hard work of our dedicated parents, families and coaching staff, the gym is on the path to recovery.
What Is Going on with Classes?
North Bay Gymnastics is taking the weekend to recreate our safe and secure environment for the benefit of our community. While the gym may not look the same for some time, we are eager to resume gymnastics for our community as soon as possible. We are working around the clock this weekend, and we will be able to present a safe, clean and secure facility once again very quickly.
Who Is North Bay Athletic Association?
At NBAA, we are committed to improving the health and welfare of the children and teenagers of Solano County. We are a non-profit organization/public charity, and we provide accessible, youth-oriented gymnastics classes, health education, and self-improvement to Vallejo and its surrounding communities, including Benicia, American Canyon, Suisun, and Fairfield. Because gymnastics improves health, physical awareness, motor skills, self-esteem, listening skills, goal setting, and cognitive abilities, our sport teaches skills to children and teens that are essential to making healthy and sound choices throughout their lives.
NBAA is managed by a Board of Directors and Executive Board comprised of community members and parents dedicated to its reputation as an upstanding community service organization. We are organized in accordance with IRC regulation 501(c)(3), and your contribution may be tax deductible (TAX ID 68-0471217).
