FAQ: Flood Recovery at NBAA, Updated on 12.19.2016 --
We Are Open!
North Bay is Back Open for Business (Soft Open with Limited Programs)
Thank You North Bay Athletic Association [NBAA] parents, coaches and volunteers!
We have managed to move as quickly as we did thanks to the team of parents, coaches and volunteers who have up their weekend to work all day and into the evening to restore sufficiently our gym. While there is much work to do, including the replacement of our flooring, in the coming months, we are safe, secure and operational far more quickly than we could ever have imagined. Truly, we are blessed to have such a dedicated community!
NBAA Still Needs Your Help!
While we have achieved a miracle in reviving our safe and secure facility, we continue to have much work to do, and we continue to require resources as we work behind the scenes for some time. We are so thankful to our communities near and afar who have contributed to our recovery for the good of our girls and boys. And, we invite those who are able to offer additional support for our non-profit gym as we continue our work to serve our community.
How Can You Help?
There are several ways you can help North Bay’s recovery:
On the Thursday night of December 15, 2016, flash flood conditions, a high tide and an inadequate storm drain combined to tragic effect for our beloved gym. While coaches and parent volunteers did what they could to secure the structure and equipment, water pervaded the building. The damage was extensive. But already, thanks to the time and hard work of our dedicated parents, families and coaching staff, the gym is on the path to recovery.
